Well here it is, the review of Fix My PS3 Fast.

On finding this guide, I was obviously apprehensive at first. After all, I’m no engineer. I have no idea how to open a PS3. I thought “isn’t it really difficult to open up smething so complicated? Is there a risk of damage to the unit? Don’t I need special equipment to open and service a machine like this?” WRONG on all counts!

The Good Bits of Fix My PS3 Fast

First of all; it works. This guide teaches you how to fix the YLoD. For many, that in itself is ebough reason to buy it.

Second of all, it really does teach you how to do it under 60 minutes. It took me 37 minutes to fix my PS3, and that’s because I am meticulous, and being a complete novice, had to double check many aspects of it as I was going along.

The videos for Fix My PS3 fast are what really make it. They’re very detailed and concise, allowing you to pause and rewind as you see fit. This is extremely useful, as you can literally watch someone do it and mimic their actions exactly.

The book itself (the pdf ebook) is also very clear and concise. It is well written, and you can tell the author has fixed many Playstation 3 consoles in the past; he really knows his way around a Playstation and knows what he’s talking about.

The Not So Good Bits of Fix My PS3 Fast

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great guide. But in the interest of fairness, I have to say that the offer of access to the ‘membership area’ with ‘regular updates’ is pointless. Er, updates to what, exactly? This is a simple guide for doing a job. What can there possibly be to update? Just an extra little selling point that doesn;t really need to be there. Overall, this is a great product. It saved me a fortune, and some worry. It saved me having to be ripped off by Sony, the worry of it being damaged or going missing in transit. It saved me having to worry about it going off and potentially being ‘butchered’ by cowboy repair men, claiming to be ‘experts’, but actually carrying out sme very shoddy work on my PS3.

Not only this, but a major aspect I didn’t think of was my saved games. Like the vast majority of people I didn’t ever back up my saved games, and didn’t think of doing so until it was too late (or so I thought). After using this guide to repair my PS3, I turned it on to find that all of my saved games were still present and intact. This was a second chance for me, and was worth the money on its own. Needless to say, my saved games are now safely backed up on to my computer.

In closing, I have nothing but good things to say about this guide. I will say to those of you who think you’re too much of an amateur to fix your own PS3; you aren’t.
